Split a track into stems — three AI models | Patefon Studio

Split your track into separate stems

Three AI models — 4, 2, or 6 stems. You choose when creating a project; that decides how the track is split and how detailed your stem editing and export can be.

Standard

Vocals, bass, drums, other

4 stems

A versatile four-way split: vocals, bass, drums, and everything else combined. Great for remixes, karaoke-style instrumentals, and quick arrangement breakdowns.

Best instrumental and vocals

Vocals, instrumental

2 stems

Two stems: isolated vocals and a full instrumental backing track. Ideal when you need a clean minus or a vocal line without splitting the band into individual instruments.

Pro plan only

Maximum detail

Vocals, bass, guitar, drums, piano, other

6 stems

Extended layout: vocals, bass, and drums plus separate guitar and piano stems, with remaining parts in an “other” track. Suited to detailed edits and professional mixing workflows.

* SDR (Signal-to-Distortion Ratio) indicates how clean the separated signal is relative to distortion and artifacts; higher decibel values mean better separation. The numbers are approximate averages and can vary a lot from track to track.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Upload your track

Create a project and pick a supported audio file. You can opt to save stems as WAV where your plan allows.

  2. 2

    Choose a model

On the separation step, compare the three options and pick the stem count you need. The two advanced models require a Pro subscription.

  3. 3

    Edit and export

Open stems in the built-in editor: per-track level, pitch, then export to MP3 or WAV.
